Needs a Few Design Tweaks

"It’s a really good product that eliminates the need for bottled water. I wish it had more ergonomic features, like being smaller at the base to fit better in cup holders, a locking mechanism to prevent the cap from twisting off over time, and a water bottle sling or a full silicone cover to prevent dents and paint chipping."

LifeStraw 1 L

"I am quite satisfied with this water bottle. It works as expected, feels high quality, and is easy to use and clean. The water tastes great from it as well. Will recommend"

Great water bottle!

"Love this and the fact it’s filtered! It’s a good size bottle and fits in cup holders well. But three things I’m not the biggest fan of: since the filter is so large, it’s less than 24oz since you can’t drink anything after it’s lower than the bottom of the filter. Second thing is the cap and handle. I love that you can take the nozzle you drink from off for cleaning but if you’re holding the bottle from the handle, it loosens and has actually detached while I was holding it. It would be so much better if the lid was separate from the handle! Third thing is the water pressure. I have the lid closed while it sits overnight and in the morning, most times when I take off the lid water comes spewing out and I have to drink it fast to prevent it from spilling everywhere. Maybe make a lid with a small hole for the pressure to be released while it’s sitting out? But overall I love this and use it at the gym and anytime I travel!"

Solid on the go bottle

"Solid water bottle that fits in my car cup holder. Due to the size of the filter displacing the water there is less water in the bottle than I initially thought. I will probably eventually get a bigger lifestraw bottle."

So perfect HAD to repurchase (got mine stolen LOL)

"Love the durability (and have dropped it pretty often, with only a dent and a few scratches as evidence), and the handle made it easy to carry around. I'm trying to reduce my PFA and microplastic consumption, since I saw on the news that "forever chemicals" can be found in our waterways here in Canada, and using a lifestraw product to filter my water gives me a bit of peace of mind in that sense. Unfortunately I lost mine recently at the dog park, and have had no luck getting it back. After 3 months of using glass bottles, I eventually caved and am now repurchasing (yay!). Mostly for convenience sake as being crunchy is both a privilege and a whole lotta work. LOVE MY LIFESTRAW WATERBOTTLE THO!!! 😭💗‼️"

Feng Y. (5/5)

It works!

"I bought the Go Series bottles for myself and two of my teenage children to use during a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. I was honestly afraid to trust it at first, but when bottled water ran short, I filled my bottle in a bathroom sink and had to trust it to do its job. I used it 4 more days from various taps without any issues. We drink a lot of water, so it was a lifesaver to be able to have accessible clean water no matter where we were."

Renee S. (5/5)

Perfectly imperfect

"As someone who is a student always I would be remised if I did not offer some opportunity for improvement. That being said, I would like to provide my thought on improving the lid of this product. It could be made out of metal instead of plastic. And the lid for the mouth piece could also be improved to be something like the flip top covers that some other companies use. Other then that. This bottle is amazing. I am currently drinking out of it as I am writing this review. Thank you and I look forward to some type of lid / cap improvement in the future!! DRINK ON!"

Future Use

"Hi! I bought the LifeStraw Go Series Stainless Steel water bottle for an upcoming trip. After having stomach problems on a previous trip, I decided I did not want to worry about stomach problems again. I love the look and weight of this water bottle. Looking forward to my upcoming vacation with No stomach issues!!"

Great Water Bottle

"Worked great on my last trip. No need to purchase water bottles and the filtration makes the water taste great! Great size for me, not too heavy or bulky."

Q&A

Can I add flavor to the water (such as lemon juice or a powder drink mix) or will the filter remove the flavor?
Hello, If you plan to add flavor, we recommend filtering the water first and then adding the lemon, electrolyte powder, or drink mix to your cup or bottle. This helps keep the filter from clogging or becoming fouled by sugars, acids, or powders that are not meant to pass through the filter media. In short, the best approach is: Filter the water first Add your flavoring afterward This will protect the filter and allow you to enjoy the added flavor without affecting filtration performance. Hope that helps!
Does the Lifestraw co sell on Amazon? I purchased a 24 oz from Amazon and it is taking out the bad taste of my well water but my stomach is rumbling and gas is constant and VERY stinky just like it did when I tried this water several years ago. I'm wondering if I have a fake product or just a malfunctioning one.
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience. I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well, and I appreciate your concern. Let’s work through this together. Does LifeStraw sell on Amazon? Yes, LifeStraw does sell products through the official LifeStraw Store on Amazon. To confirm you purchased a genuine item, check that: The product was listed as "Sold by and shipped from Amazon.com" or "LifeStraw Official" The packaging includes the LifeStraw logo, official branding, and instructions The product matches what is shown on LifeStraw’s official website or store page If you're unsure, feel free to send us photos of the product and packaging, and we’ll help verify it. About your symptoms LifeStraw filters, including the 24 oz Go Bottle, are designed to reduce bacteria, parasites, microplastics, chlorine, and some chemicals, but they do not remove all potential contaminants found in well water, especially things like sulfur compounds (which can cause strong odors and digestive upset) or viruses. It's possible your well water contains compounds such as hydrogen sulfide or other minerals that the filter does not remove. These could be contributing to the symptoms you're experiencing. What you can do next Here are a few suggestions to help isolate the issue: Try boiling and cooling your well water before drinking it, and see if your symptoms persist. Compare how you feel after drinking the boiled water versus water filtered through your LifeStraw. If symptoms only occur with filtered water, the filter may not be a good match for your source and you may want to consider an alternate system such as Reverse Osmosis. . Your health and safety are very important to us. Please let us know if we can provide any additional support.
If I wanted to remove the filter for a time and use the bottles without it. Does the filter need to be kept under any specific condition? Like in a box, out of direct sunlight or away from areas that gather dust which could accumulate on the filter(s).
When your GO bottle is not in use, we highly recommend storing the filter with a salt/saline solution because it helps to prevent any mold and algae from growing. This process will also keep the membrane moist while in long-term storage, ensuring a good flow rate when resuming use. If the membrane becomes completely dried out, getting the filter flowing again can be somewhat challenging, and we want to help you prevent this from happening. You can follow the steps below. • REMOVE CARBON FILTER: Remove the carbon filter, let dry for 30 minutes, and place in a sealed in a sealed reusable container. • DISINFECT: Mix ¼ teaspoon of household bleach with 2 cups of clean water and pour the solution into the Go bottle, closing the lid when filled. Let stand for 5 minutes. Then, empty the bottle or container and rinse with new water, shaking the filter. • IMMERSE IN SALT SOLUTION: Fill the bottle half-way with water, add 1 teaspoon of salt and dissolve. Place the filter - lid with mouthpiece closed or cap on and the microfilter membrane still attached - back onto the bottle and tighten. • STORE: Store the bottle containing the saltwater in a cool, dry place. Store carbon filter sealed in reusable container separately in a cool, dry place.
Does lifestraw remove Fluoride and/ or arsenic from water?
LifeStraw filters do not remove fluoride from water. For arsenic, LifeStraw’s membrane microfilters do not remove it, but the activated carbon and ion exchange filters in products like the LifeStraw Home Pitcher and Dispenser can reduce arsenic levels. However, they do not eliminate it completely. If arsenic removal is a primary concern, additional filtration methods such as reverse osmosis may be needed.
what do you drink from? is there a straw? or do you just open it and drink from the bottle?
The LifeStraw Go Series Stainless Steel Bottle does not have a traditional straw. You drink directly from the built-in mouthpiece on the lid, which is connected to the filter. Water is pulled through the filter as you sip, similar to drinking from a hydration bottle with a bite valve. You do not need to tilt the bottle; just sip from the mouthpiece. Let me know if you need more details! 😊
What does it weigh compared to your nearest plastic bottle
Hi, The Stainless steel Go Series 24 oz bottle weighs 15.2 oz. The Go Series (plastic) 22 oz bottle weighs 8.7 oz.
Does the 24oz stainless steal fit into a car cup holder?
The 18 oz is more suited for the car cup holder.
Do you have to drink from the straw, or can you pour the contents into another cup? I work in court sometimes and need to be discreet and quiet so I have a cup I use that I generally fill throughout the day.
Hi, The filtered contents would need to go through the straw first in order to work properly. We do have a Home Pitcher that might be ideal to use to fill your water bottle.
Are the bottles made of 18/8 or 18/10 stainless steel?
The steel on the Go Series is 18/8.
Do you have to use the carbon filter in order to filter out bacteria or is that strictly for taste and chlorine?
Thank you for your question! The activated carbon filter is for removing chlorine and improving the taste and smell of water. Removal of bacteria and other common pathogens is done by the membrane microfilter - the longer part of the straw filter in the bottle.
