"The base fits well and helps keep the bottle steady/stops it from sliding on metal surfaces. The only drawback is that I had to take the bottom off to insert and remove the bottle from the side pocket of my backpack. So I ended up not using the bottom when I was hiking. That being said, it is of excellent quality and I am happy I purchased it."
