Needs a Few Design Tweaks

"It’s a really good product that eliminates the need for bottled water. I wish it had more ergonomic features, like being smaller at the base to fit better in cup holders, a locking mechanism to prevent the cap from twisting off over time, and a water bottle sling or a full silicone cover to prevent dents and paint chipping."

LifeStraw 1 L

"I am quite satisfied with this water bottle. It works as expected, feels high quality, and is easy to use and clean. The water tastes great from it as well. Will recommend"

"Kids love the product, its not that hard to get water from the straw!!!! The kids love it!!! Dont believe the hype on how hard it is to get water out from it, like i said the kids love it and tap water never tasted sooo great!!!"

Stan (5/5)

Great water bottle!

"Love this and the fact it’s filtered! It’s a good size bottle and fits in cup holders well. But three things I’m not the biggest fan of: since the filter is so large, it’s less than 24oz since you can’t drink anything after it’s lower than the bottom of the filter. Second thing is the cap and handle. I love that you can take the nozzle you drink from off for cleaning but if you’re holding the bottle from the handle, it loosens and has actually detached while I was holding it. It would be so much better if the lid was separate from the handle! Third thing is the water pressure. I have the lid closed while it sits overnight and in the morning, most times when I take off the lid water comes spewing out and I have to drink it fast to prevent it from spilling everywhere. Maybe make a lid with a small hole for the pressure to be released while it’s sitting out? But overall I love this and use it at the gym and anytime I travel!"

Solid on the go bottle

"Solid water bottle that fits in my car cup holder. Due to the size of the filter displacing the water there is less water in the bottle than I initially thought. I will probably eventually get a bigger lifestraw bottle."

So perfect HAD to repurchase (got mine stolen LOL)

"Love the durability (and have dropped it pretty often, with only a dent and a few scratches as evidence), and the handle made it easy to carry around. I'm trying to reduce my PFA and microplastic consumption, since I saw on the news that "forever chemicals" can be found in our waterways here in Canada, and using a lifestraw product to filter my water gives me a bit of peace of mind in that sense. Unfortunately I lost mine recently at the dog park, and have had no luck getting it back. After 3 months of using glass bottles, I eventually caved and am now repurchasing (yay!). Mostly for convenience sake as being crunchy is both a privilege and a whole lotta work. LOVE MY LIFESTRAW WATERBOTTLE THO!!! 😭💗‼️"

Feng Y. (5/5)

It works!

"I bought the Go Series bottles for myself and two of my teenage children to use during a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. I was honestly afraid to trust it at first, but when bottled water ran short, I filled my bottle in a bathroom sink and had to trust it to do its job. I used it 4 more days from various taps without any issues. We drink a lot of water, so it was a lifesaver to be able to have accessible clean water no matter where we were."

Renee S. (5/5)

Perfectly imperfect

"As someone who is a student always I would be remised if I did not offer some opportunity for improvement. That being said, I would like to provide my thought on improving the lid of this product. It could be made out of metal instead of plastic. And the lid for the mouth piece could also be improved to be something like the flip top covers that some other companies use. Other then that. This bottle is amazing. I am currently drinking out of it as I am writing this review. Thank you and I look forward to some type of lid / cap improvement in the future!! DRINK ON!"

Future Use

"Hi! I bought the LifeStraw Go Series Stainless Steel water bottle for an upcoming trip. After having stomach problems on a previous trip, I decided I did not want to worry about stomach problems again. I love the look and weight of this water bottle. Looking forward to my upcoming vacation with No stomach issues!!"

Q&A

Is it normal for it to suck the water through or do i need T o open the filter 🤔
You do not need to open or remove anything on the filter to get water. The filters have openings to pull water through. If you have additional questions, please reach out to us at info@lifestraw.com
Can I take my steel go bottle to the snow (to -10C) without worrying about the filter freezing? Will the steel keep it insulated?
No, you should not assume that the LifeStraw Steel Go Bottle will protect the filter from freezing at -10°C (14°F). While the stainless steel exterior provides some insulation, it is not sufficient to fully prevent the internal filter from freezing in sustained cold temperatures. In extremely cold conditions, even with excellent insulation, water will eventually freeze, as the external temperature will continue to drop below the freezing point of water. If the membrane filter freezes, the microscopic pores can be damaged, compromising its ability to filter water safely. To prevent this: Keep the bottle inside your jacket or insulated bag when outdoors. Avoid leaving it in the cold for extended periods, especially overnight. Use warm (not hot) water when refilling in cold conditions to help prevent freezing. If you suspect the filter has frozen, it should be replaced to ensure safe filtration. Let me know if you need further guidance!
Can I use the steel version for boiling water (without the filter)? Will the steel insulate the contents from freezing in cold temps (-10-0C)? Can I drink from it without the filter?
Boiling water inside could damage the bottle’s components, including seals and coatings. We don't recommend putting boiling water into our bottles as they can also damage the filter and potentially burn you. You can put warm water into the bottle, but under freezing temperatures, the water will eventually freeze. Yes, you can drink from the bottle without the filter.
Do the filters of the Lifestraw Go absorb drink additives as well as contaminants?
Yes, the filters in the LifeStraw Go can reduce or remove some drink additives, depending on their composition. We also don't recommend adding these as they can clog the filter. Membrane Microfilter – This removes bacteria, parasites, and microplastics but does not affect dissolved additives, but can have reduced flow and possibly clog due to additives. Activated Carbon Filter – This reduces chlorine, some heavy metals, and organic chemical contaminants. It may also reduce the effectiveness of drink additives like electrolytes, flavor enhancers, or vitamins, as these compounds can be partially absorbed by the carbon. If you want to ensure you get the full benefits of your drink additives, it's best to add them after filtering.
Does it filter out chlorine and fluoride? Was looking for a bottle I can bring with me while I work outta town and sometimes I only have access to park water or the hotel water is funky
While our original LifeStraw personal water filter straw does not remove chlorine, our LifeStraw Go bottles, LifeStraw Home products, and LifeStraw Flex as well as LifeStraw Max do reduce chlorine. Our products do not remove fluoride.
Hi. The membrane lasts for 1,000 gallons, but the carbon filter only lasts for 26 gallons. Will the membrane stop working if i don't replace the carbon filter?
Thank you for the question! We recommend more regular replacement of the carbon filter for maximum efficacy. The bottle and membrane microfilter will still work if you do not replace the carbon filter or if you opt to not use a carbon filter.
Does the LIFESTRAW GO remove fluoride?
LifeStraw filters do not remove fluoride from water.
Does the water bottle filter filter out pfas like your pitcher filters?
Thank you for this question. While the Go Series does have a carbon filter element, it is slightly different in capabilities and does not remove PFAS from water. You can see a quick comparison chart for our filters here: https://lifestraw.com/pages/compare
Why is my new lifestraw bottle hard to get water out of to drink? What can I do to help
Thank you for reaching out to us. When you first start using the bottle, the filter will need to hydrate and it can require more force than expected. This will improve with use and regular use will ensure water flows well. To help this process at start up, we recommend allowing the filter to soak in the water for a few minutes and take 5 solid draws on the straw to pull water up and into the filter. But, the best solution is to use the bottle often and keeping the filter well-hydrated.
