- Once I receive the straw, do I need to perform the long-term storage process, or can I store them as-is from the factory for up to 1yr or more?
- You do not need to prep the Peak straw immediately and can be stored indefinitely if it has not been used. Once you are ready to use, please follow the prep and cleaning instructions on LifeStraw.com.
- Would a Lifestraw filter out chemicals and other unwanted liquids (!) from a swimming pool?
- Because pool water may have an abundance of salt and chemicals beyond chlorine, we do not recommend filtering pool water with your LifeStraw. LifeStraw products also do not work in saltwater or brackish water.
- How many ounces of water does this straw hold?
- Thank you for this question. The straw itself only holds on to a small amount of water that is retained in the filter membrane which keeps the filter hydrated.
- If you buy the 2 pk are they individually packaged? As in for a gift for more than one person.
- Generally, our 2-Pack (or other multipack) products are packaged together.
- What doesn't it filter? Does it filter chemicals (thinking about a situation like east Palestine, Ohio)? Does it filter heavy metals? Also does it filter out minerals, like calcium and magnesium? Thank you
- Our products vary in the capabilities depending on the filtration system. The LifeStraw Peak Series Straw does not remove chemicals nor heavy metals. Dissolved minerals are also not filtered out. The Peak Series Straw is designed to filter out bacteria, parasites, and microplastics. For concerns about chemicals and heavy metals, you will want our 2-stage filtration systems which utilize both a microfilter and an activated carbon filter. - Does the carry case fit the lifestraw peak as well?
- Yes! This case fits both the original Lifestraw water filter straw and our LifeStraw Peak Series water filter straw.
- Does the Lifestraw remove chlorine?
- While our original LifeStraw personal water filter straw does not remove chlorine, our LifeStraw Go bottles, LifeStraw Home products, and LifeStraw Flex as well as LifeStraw Max do reduce chlorine.
- can someone please give me a link for something you would take to mexico? I get sick everytime even if they claim it is filtered. Sometjing just for icewater!!

- Are there filters in the life straw to change?
- Hello Belva! Both our original LifeStraw personal water filter straw and Peak Series water filter straw come with a non-removable filter, so there are no replacements to use once the filter has reached the end of its lifetime.
- Can this connect in line to hydration systems?
- Hello Dean! The Peak Straw can be attached to most gravity systems. The removable bottom cap allows for a standard gravity system hose to be directly connected onto the straw filter.
