      Great product.

"This water filter drinking straw is actually pretty decent. I find myself using it a lot when I'm just around the house or even out fishing . It doesn't taste different from what you are drinking with or without the straw. I think it's just the point to know you are getting filtered water and that's great for me. I would definitely recommend to product to everyone."

      Russell J. (5/5)

      Great item for backpacking

"This thing is cool! I got some water out of the creek and put in in this plastic bottle. Using the straw, it helps clean it before it got to my mouth. It's very easy to use. Just sip through the straw and it travels through the filter. Definitely give this a try if you like to explore outdoors."

      Amy A. (5/5)

      Great Lifestraw

"I used this on an empty bottle that i filled up with tap water. The taste was great and I enjoyed the design of the straw. It's a very nice size and can easily be carried around without taking up too much space."

      AmBrosia B. (5/5)

      Learned something new today

"One thing I learned while testing the LifeStraw Sip water filter straw: you can still taste electrolytes through it. At first I thought that meant it wasn't filtering anything, but it turns out the filter is designed to remove bacteria, parasites, and microplastics, not dissolved minerals and electrolytes. I didn't realize bacteria are much smaller than that. The straw is lightweight, and easy to toss in an emergency kit. Hopefully it's something I'll never truly need, but I can definitely see the value in having it available for travel, outdoor adventures: or emergency preparedness."

      Summer S. (5/5)

Sipping clean crisp water straight from Lake Michigan

"I brought the Lifestraw for a day out at Lake Michigan & honestly it was a total game changer. I was a bit skeptical about sipping it straight from the lake, but this little straw is pure magic. The suction requires a little bit of effort on the first few sips to get the water flowing. The water tasted clean, crispy, and fresh no weird after taste."

      Dipa P. (4/5)

      Lifestraw

"It's very easy to clean and makes great water quality very quickly. I love how it's durable and there is no leakage. The material is wonderful. I recommend."

      Sarah S. (5/5)

      Love this straw

"This is great for me! I drink reverse osmosis water at home. I keep this straw at school for times when I forget to bring water from home or drink it all and need to refill from the water dispenser. It makes such a big difference on the taste - no gross chlorine!"

      Regina M. (5/5)

      Liked it a lot

"I love the straw specially, using this outdoors. I have been using my straw with normal tap water and it does work well. This design is nice and easy and small. Straw doesn't weight much. What worried me it can be easy to lose ."

      Aida V. (5/5)

      Functional and affordable.

"Great use for camping and light weight for traveling. I love the functionality of it. The only con is it's a bit difficult to clean and store but still totally worth it."

      Caitlyn B. (5/5)

Great product but after care is annoying

"I love the Lifestraw, have been wanting one of these for my emergency kit for a long time. Recently we had a water test on our house and it is not to paletable and the Lifestraw is great to filter out all the impurities if I have to drink from the tap. I planned to use this mainly for camping and emergencies. That being said only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is the complexity of cleaning for long term storage. If I need this in an emergency now that I have opened it, I will need to already of had fresh water at least enough to flush the system according to the manual. Also frustrating is that you need to store in a saline solution. This is not ideal for an emergency situation. I guess I will need to get an additional one for emergency purposes."

      Q&A

Can I drink from the creek in the woods while out trout fishing ?
Hi, Yes, the LifeStraw Sip can be used to drink from freshwater sources like a creek while trout fishing, as long as the water source is not visibly contaminated by chemicals, fuel, agricultural runoff, mining activity, or sewage. The Sip is designed to help protect against bacteria, parasites, and microplastics. However, it is not intended for saltwater, chemically contaminated water, or water with known industrial or agricultural pollution. For the safest use outdoors, choose the clearest moving water available, avoid stagnant water, and avoid areas near roads, farms, campsites, or obvious pollution sources. Thank you.
What is the difference between the lifestraw sip essential and the lifestraw sip? Thank you
Both the LifeStraw Steel Sip and the LifeStraw Sip Essential are reusable personal filter straws made for filtering water on the go. They offer the same core filtration performance, including protection against bacteria, parasites, microplastics, silt, sand, and cloudiness. Both also have a membrane microfilter rated for up to 1,000 liters and a 0.2 micron pore size. The biggest differences are in the design and accessories. The Steel Sip is the more premium option and includes an individual carry case. It is heavier at 1.8 oz for the straw alone and 3.1 oz with the case. The Sip also has a replaceable mouthpiece where the Sip Essential does not (the mouthpieces do not fit on both). Hello, The Sip Essential is the lighter and more affordable option. It weighs 0.7 oz and the current product page lists top and bottom caps in the included components. Let us know if you have additional questions!
