"The base fits well and helps keep the bottle steady/stops it from sliding on metal surfaces. The only drawback is that I had to take the bottom off to insert and remove the bottle from the side pocket of my backpack. So I ended up not using the bottom when I was hiking. That being said, it is of excellent quality and I am happy I purchased it."

- Hi, The Silicone base for the Stainless Steel LifeStraw Go Series bottle isn't necessary, but provides an extra level of protection from dents and scratches.
- How often do you have to replace the filter?
- The Go Series microfilter should be replaced approximately 4000L or each year while the carbon filter should be replaced every two months. We offer a 1 year replacement pack at https://lifestraw.com/products/lifestraw-go-series-replacement-filter-1-year-pack.
- What are the dimensions on this? (height and diameter)
- The 24 oz. silicone base is 3.5" in diameter and 1.75" in height.
- Does this base fit the previous version of the metal 24 oz Go series bottle?
- Yes, this silicone base does work with the previous generation stainless steel 24 oz. Go bottles.
- Does the 24 ounce base fit the 18oz?
- The base for the 24 oz does not fit on the 18 oz. Their diameters are slightly different: the 24 oz bottle as a diameter of 3.3" (8.5 cm) and the diameter of the 18 oz is 3.1" (8 cm).
- Does the silicone base fit the plastic version as well?
