Official Rules, Terms and Conditions: 

LifeStraw® Emergency Prep Giveaway 2024 Official Rules 

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS GIVEAWAY.  A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE OR IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.  VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. 

The LifeStraw® Welcome Wisteria Giveaway (the “Giveaway”) is sponsored by LifeStraw®, 333 W. Ostend St STE 300, Baltimore, MD 21230 (“Sponsor”). 

Eligibility: Entrants must be legal residents of the United States or the District of Columbia, and Canada excluding Quebec to enter the Giveaway.   Residents of Quebec are prohibited from entering.  Entrants must be 21 years of age or older at the time of entering. 

Employees of LifeStraw®, Vestergaard, their affiliated companies, subsidiaries, retailers, suppliers, vendors, sales representatives, distributors, advertising agencies, promotional suppliers, and their parent companies, agents, officers, directors, and the members of the immediate families and/or persons living in the same household as such individuals, of each of the foregoing, are not eligible to enter the Giveaway. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.   

Giveaway Period:  The Giveaway commences on September 3, 2024 at 12:00:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on September 7, 2024 at 11:59:59 PM ET (“Giveaway Period”).  The Sponsor’s computer system governs all computer and time-related aspects of the Giveaway and is the official time-keeping device for the Giveaway. 

How to Enter:  Entrants may enter the Giveaway between September 3, 2024 at 12:00:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on September 7, 2024 at 11:59:59 PM ET (the “Entry Period”). Enter via LifeStraw.com  during the Entry Period by submitting your email address.

Sponsor may in its sole discretion disqualify entries for which intellectual property claims including those under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act are received and remove any such entry.  Sponsor reserves the right to eliminate any entry that does not adhere to the Submission Requirements, or the terms and conditions of these Official Rules, or that are otherwise inappropriate at Sponsor’s sole discretion, and any such entry may be disqualified and not posted to (or removed from) the Website. All of Sponsor’s decisions are final. 

Facebook and Instagram Entrants shall be the authorized account holders at the time of entry.  Entries containing false or fraudulent information will be disqualified.  Limit one (1) entry per person and per user account.  Duplicate entries for a single individual will be disqualified. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received and the relative skill of the Entrants. Submissions that are lost, late, misdirected, illegible, incompletely received, or incomplete, for any reason, will not be eligible and are not the responsibility of Sponsor.  Proof of sending will not be deemed to be proof of receipt.  Entries remain the property of Sponsor and will not be returned or acknowledged.  All submissions must comply with the Facebook and Instagram Terms of Use set forth on those sites.  

Data Collection and Privacy: All information collected through entry into the Giveaway will be used only in accordance with Sponsor's privacy policy at: http://www.lifestraw.com/privacy-policy. You are providing your information to the Sponsor, and not to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. 

Prize: The two (2) winners of the Giveaway (“Winner”) receive one Bunker Down bundle - LifeStraw Community and 2 LifeStraw Go Series ($484.95); one Disaster Master bundle - 25 LifeStraw Personal Navy Straw . All Prizes will be awarded, and prize details are determined solely by Sponsor.  No substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent of the Prize is allowed.  Entrants acknowledge that Sponsor does not make any warranties, express or implied, relating to the Prize itself.  All additional meals, gratuities, and other expenses not specified herein are the responsibility of the Winner. 

Drawing and Notification:  Two (2) Winners will be randomly selected by LifeStraw® from all eligible entries during the Entry Period. 

Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify Entrants in its sole discretion. Entrants may not pay people or provide any other type of consideration in exchange for social media engagement. Any Entrant who violates the ban on paying or providing consideration in exchange for social media engagement will be disqualified. The Winners will be those who are contacted directly by the Sponsor after scores have been verified. 

The results of the decisions of Sponsor and its third party service providers, are final and binding in all respects.  The Winners will be notified by email to the email address by September 13, 2024.  If a potential Winner cannot be reached via the email address provided and/or does not respond to Sponsor (or its third party service provider) within three (3) days from receipt of the prize notification, or if they are found to be ineligible, or if they cannot or does not otherwise comply with these Official Rules, an alternate Winner will be randomly selected.    

Announcement of winner:  You can also request a copy of the Winner list and these Official Rules by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to LifeStraw, 333 W. Ostend St STE 300, Baltimore, MD  21230.  

General Conditions:  All Federal, state and local laws and regulations are applicable.  All taxes (including, but not limited to, income taxes), and any and all service charges or fees applicable to the Prize are the sole responsibility of the Winners.  The Prize Winners may be required to execute (and have notarized) an Affidavit of Eligibility Liability and Publicity Release (“Affidavit/Release”) which must be returned to and received by Sponsor or its third-party service provider within five (5) business days from Winners’ receipt of the Affidavit/Release.  The Winners may also be required to complete a Form 1099 before receiving their Prize(s). The Prize Winners may also be required to send Sponsor appropriate proof of age.  Any failure to comply with the foregoing will result in disqualification and an alternate Winner may be chosen.   Return of the Prize, the Prize notification, or the Affidavit/Release as undeliverable will result in disqualification and an alternate Winner may be selected.   

The Winners’ entry into the Giveaway and/or acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for Sponsor and its affiliates to use the Winners’ name, address (city and state) and/or likeness for advertising and trade purposes without further compensation, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known and hereafter devised, including without limitation in Sponsor’s newsletters, on the Sponsor’s website located at lifestraw.com, Sponsor’s Facebook page, Sponsor’s Instagram account, and Sponsor’s Twitter stream, unless prohibited by law.  All Entrants agree to comply with these Official Rules.  Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with this Giveaway and any person who does not comply with these Official Rules, will be ineligible for the Prize and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. 

By entering, each Entrant agrees to: (a) comply with and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor which are binding and final in all matters relating to this Giveaway; (b) release and hold harmless the Sponsor and Facebook, and their respective parent, subsidiary, and affiliated companies, the prize suppliers and any other organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the Giveaway, and all of their respective past and present officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, expenses, and liability, including but not limited to negligence and damages of any kind to persons and property, including but not limited to invasion of privacy (under appropriation, intrusion, public disclosure of private facts, false light in the public eye or other legal theory), defamation, slander, libel, violation of right of publicity, infringement of trademark, copyright or other intellectual property rights, property damage, or death or personal injury arising out of or relating to an Entrant’s Entry, participation in the Giveaway, acceptance or use or misuse of any prize and/or travel to and/or from any prize or other prize-related activity, or the broadcast, transmission, performance, exploitation or use of Entry; (c) indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Sponsor and the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, expenses, and liabilities (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to an Entrant’s participation in the Giveaway and/or Entrant’s acceptance, use or misuse of a prize, or travel to and/or from the Prize and any other Prize-related activity; and (d) be contacted by Sponsor or its designee by mail, email, or telephone concerning this Giveaway. 

THE MARYLAND COURTS (STATE AND FEDERAL) SHALL HAVE SOLE JURISDICTION OF ANY CONTROVERSIES REGARDING THE GIVEAWAY AND THE LAWS OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA SHALL GOVERN THE GIVEAWAY.  EACH ENTRANT WAIVES ANY AND ALL OBJECTIONS TO JURISDICTION AND VENUE IN THOSE COURTS AND HEREBY SUBMITS TO THE JURISDICTION OF THOSE COURTS.   

If, for reasons beyond Sponsor’s control, the Giveaway is not capable of running as originally planned, such as tampering or bugs or infection by computer virus, Sponsor at its sole discretion, reserves the right to suspend, cancel or modify the Giveaway, without liability.  Sponsor is not responsible for (a) its own, its third party service provider’s, or any Entrant’s computer system, hardware, software or program malfunction or other errors, failures, delayed computer or email transmissions or network connections that are either human or technical in nature’ (b) any design, typographical or other errors in any materials associated with the Giveaway; (c) garbled, incomplete, damaged, misdirected, late, lost, undelivered, or unprocessed entries or videos; or (d) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Giveaway.   Sponsor will not be responsible for acts of God, dangerous weather conditions, acts of terrorism, civil disturbances, work stoppage or any other matters beyond Sponsor's reasonable control (each a “Force Majeure” event) that may cause the cancellation or postponement of the Giveaway.  Prize Winners will be notified as quickly as possible of any postponement or cancellation of the Prize.  No more than the stated number of Prizes will be awarded. 

Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify these Official Rules at any time without notice. THE GIVEAWAY IS IN NO WAY SPONSORED, ENDORSED, ADMINISTERED, OR ASSOCIATED WITH FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM OR TWITTER.  INFORMATION PROVIDED IN CONNECTION WITH THIS GIVEAWAY IS BEING PROVIDED TO SPONSOR AND NOT TO FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM OR TWITTER.  AS A CONDITION TO ENTRY INTO THIS GIVEAWAY, EACH ENTRANT AGREES THAT FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM OR TWITTER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR LOSSES OR INJURIES OF ANY KIND RESULTING FROM PARTICIPATION IN THE GIVEAWAY. 

This Giveaway is void where prohibited, restricted or taxed by law. 

Disclaimers: All Giveaway Entrants agree that Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, retailers, sales representatives, distributors, advertising and promotional agencies, and each of their officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively “Sponsor Affiliates”), shall not be liable for losses or injuries of any kind resulting from acceptance or use, including misuse, of the Prize, or any Entrant’s participation in the Giveaway, or any technical malfunctions of the telephone network, transmission line, computer system or network, computer equipment, hardware, software, or any combination thereof, or any entries that are late (including delayed data transmissions), tampered with, garbled, incomplete, misdirected, lost, mutilated, delayed, corrupted, mechanically duplicated, illegible or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules.  Entrants also agree that Sponsor Affiliates are not responsible or liable for any injury or damage to an entrant’s or third person’s computer related to or resulting from the Giveaway or its prizes.  Sponsor Affiliates are not liable for damage to a user’s computer system in any way due to an Entrant’s participation in the Giveaway or downloading any information in connection with the Giveaway, including without limitation any server failure, lost, delayed or corrupted data or other malfunction.  Sponsor reserves the right to modify or cancel the Giveaway in the event that it becomes technically corrupted.
