Reviews

Awesome !

"Great product. I’ve always loved LifeStraw products really good high-quality. One thing though, I take my straw with me on long camping trips. So the straw and the straw cleaner (plastic syringe) are always together. I also recently purchased the straw case but you can’t fit both the LifeStraw and the cleaning syringe in the same case. I find crucial that these travel together on long trips. My two cents, otherwise I love LifeStraw 🤙"

Excellent product

"Pocket size, connects to ordinary bottles, very versatile staple of my ruck"

George D. (5/5)

Great filter, bad storage case

"The filter is just what I has hoped for, small enough to fit in a belt pouch, enough features to make filtering in the wild easy and safe. The carrying case on the other hand is a waste of money as it does not have room for both the filter and the back flush tool. I bought three filters and three cases. At least the filters work."

David C. (5/5)

Fit

"Does not fit on ANY water bottle."

Stan S. (1/5)

Poor

"Kinda disappointed. Filter wont work on Poland Spring bottles. Threads dont grab and keeps popping off."

Matt (1/5)

Best new Life Straw product.

"I have had Life Straws since they first became available. The Peak Solo, is the latest improvement in the Life Straw family. The ability to screw this onto a water bottle means that you can now carry water from a questionable source in a standard water bottle and make it safe to drink while on the move."

"This was my 'just in case' Lifestraw purchase. I own the Sip Straw (and several for gifts), 2 insulated water bottles, and the 32 cup water dispenser. Because I'm paranoid, I purchased this product because it's perfectly portable for long walks in local parks. The water fountains are always appreciated but I'd prefer to filter the water, just in case."

Q&A

Do you have an adapter to fit all size water bottles, it seems to only screw on certain water bottles.
We used to have what was called the Universal Adapter, which you may still be able to find on Amazon or Ebay. However, at this time we no longer make an adaptable top for various water bottles.
I have just bought the peak solo and wish to buy a collapsible water bottle to use with it. Do you sell such a bottle only without a filter t o use with my peak solo. Thank you
Hello, At this time, we do not offer a collapsible water bottle only. The solo is designed to be used in various circumstances so if you buy a separate bottle, you can use the solo to drink from this.
Does the Peak Solo Unit include the membrane microfiltration technology and a charcoal element? Are there replacement elements for the Peak solo or just replacement at end of life? Thanks
The LifeStraw Peak Solo Water Filter utilizes membrane microfiltration technology to filter out bacteria, parasites, microplastics, silt, sand, and cloudiness from drinking water. Iit does not include an activated carbon element, which is typically used to reduce chemicals and improve taste. If you're interested in adding activated carbon filtration to your setup, LifeStraw does provide an activated carbon + ion exchange filter attachment. This attachment protects against heavy metals like lead and mercury, reduces chlorine, and improves taste. It's designed to be attached to the LifeStraw Peak Membrane filter, enhancing its filtration capabilities. Regarding replacement options, the Peak Solo is designed to last up to 2,000 liters (approximately 500 gallons) of water. Once it reaches the end of its lifespan, the filter will stop allowing water to flow through, indicating that it needs to be replaced.
Can you use this without a water bottle? That is, like a straw to drink directly from a water source like a lake or stream.
Absolutely! You can channel your inner nature enthusiast and get up close and personal with that lake or stream. The LifeStraw was made for that exact purpose—so feel free to bend down and sip like you're at nature's own smoothie bar! Just remember, it’s not the most glamorous look, but you’ll be the freshest hydrated adventurer on the trail!
Is this to be used with “tap” water when traveling or water from a natural source in survival?
Great question! The Solo is good for any fresh water source whether it be a tap or natural source. You cannot use with salt, sea, or brackish water.
Can you pull through it to drink without squeezing the water bottle? Or is that a necessary part to doing the filtration? Because I have only metal and glass bottles. Just curious!
Thank you for the question. You can draw water through the filter by using suction as in a straw. In the case of a metal or glass bottle, you would have to tilt the bottle back/upwards and drink like a sports bottle.
Replacement filters, do you make replacement filters cartridges for the filter? Or do you have to buy a complete new system every time the filters itself has been used up? Also, how do you know when to replace filter? Are there any indicators on the filter allowing you to know that the filter is no longer useful or not???
Thanks for your question, Giovanni! The LifeStraw Peak Series Membrane Microfilter Replacement can be used as a replacement filter for the Peak Solo. https://lifestraw.com/products/lifestraw-peak-series-membrane-microfilter-replacement
