Concerned about everyone's wellbeing

"I rely on safe drinking in our world . I do not think of my self interest but care about all life. Water is essential to everything living. If, I only am concerned for myself, I will not benefit in any such way. Though the use of my countertop lifestraw water dispenser is for self use, I support, promote and distribute what I can in order to help others with the many products you have to offer."

So convenient!

"I love our new LifeStraw water pitcher -- a Christmas gift from our son. And I also love that I can receive these replacement filters automatically every 2 months! When it arrives, it's time to change filters. Easy, peasey. And the water quality is fantastic!!"

Love you LifeStraw

"We are loving our glass pitcher and filtration system. Our replacements come on schedule and keep us in sync with rotation. Thank you."

Sherry C. (5/5)

"I love the taste of my water. That’s because of your neo-modern pitcher and water filter system, which remove many kinds of toxic substances. When it comes from the tap, its sort of yellowish or rust-tinged. However, when its inthe pitcher, the water looks clear and yastes great. Ellyq"

Pitcher

"I received my pitcher several months ago and just started using it. The bottle waters I usually purchase is something I wanted to end. My family is visiting and decide to put it together for use. It did take a while for it to fill and the water is crisp. But unfortunately with 3 adults drinking water it's a challenge. I did have to purchase some bottle water. I think my next investment will be the travel water bottle so I can always have the water available to me and my family."

Q&A

On the 35-cup unit, is the carbon filter placed directly underneath the membrane micro filter in the filter housing?
Yes, the carbon filter fits in the small round cap that attaches to the bottom of the filter housing below the membrane microfilter.
Why would a brand new filter make the water taste so badly like plastic?
A brand-new LifeStraw membrane microfilter may cause water to taste slightly plastic-like due to residues from the manufacturing process or from the materials used in the filter housing. This is not harmful but can be unpleasant. Here are some solutions: Flush the Filter: Fill the system with clean water and let it drain fully. Repeat this process 2-3 times or until the taste subsides. Soak the Filter: Soak the filter and components (except any electronic parts) in clean water for about 20 minutes before first use. Backflush Thoroughly: Use the provided backflush mechanism to clear out any residual particles from the filter.
Can this filter remove dissolved solids? I am living in a rental with well water. It is tested safe every year by the state. However, it has so much white crud in it. It affects everything and I don't want that in my body. Anywhere that water has dried leaves a film of white stuff. Does this sound like something I can avoid with a life water filter?
Hi, The LifeStraw Home pitcher is designed to filter various contaminants commonly found in tap water, including bacteria, parasites, lead, microplastics, PFAS, and other chemicals. However, it does not remove dissolved minerals such as calcium and magnesium, which are typically responsible for the white particles you observe when your well water dries. These white residues are often due to hard water, which contains high levels of these minerals. When hard water evaporates, it leaves behind mineral deposits, resulting in the white spots or flakes you notice. To effectively remove these dissolved minerals from your well water, a water softening system is recommended. Water softeners work by exchanging calcium and magnesium ions with sodium or potassium ion, thereby reducing water hardness and preventing mineral deposits.
Why can’t I just order 3 or 4 at a time instead of this monthly chg?
Hi Margery, The Subscription offer provides customers filters every other month without having to think about ordering them. If this doesn't work for you, you can cancel the subscription and purchase independent carbon filters or a filter pack on our LifeStraw.com website. Thanks!
How often do we change the bigger, long filter? I know we change the carbon filters every 2 months.
Hi, The Home Pitchers and Dispensers have a two-stage filtration system: a membrane microfilter that removes pathogens and blocks microplastics and debris in the water and an activated carbon + ion exchange filter that removes and reduces 30+ chemical and heavy metal contaminants. The membrane microfilter is good until water no longer passes through (a sign it may be time to change). Still, testing has shown that for best use and experience, it should be replaced after around 260 gallons of water is filtered—or about a year of use for most households. The carbon filters should be replaced every 60 days for maximum efficacy. Their lifespan is more related to exposure time than the volume of water filtered. You can find these replacement filters on LifeStraw.com in individual or multi-packs.  We also have a Subscription program for our carbon filters that automatically ships you new carbon filters every two months, so you don't need to remember!  You can sign up here. Thank you again for the question. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do. We're happy to help.
Want to buy replacement filters but don't want to set up the subscription service. Have purchased package of three filters in the past and would like to be able to buy a package of three filters again. Website only shows subscription service.
Thank you for taking the time to post your question. We do still sell the filters individually and in multipacks. You can find the 3-pack version here: https://lifestraw.com/products/lifestraw-home-replacement-filters?variant=20718446739567
I want to buy replacement filters for my pitcher without a subscription but don't see that as anoption
Thank you for taking the time to reach out with your question. Our home filters are available a la carte or in bundles. The landing page for the home filters can be found here: https://lifestraw.com/products/lifestraw-home-replacement-filters
If I subscribe to replacement water filters every 2 months, do I also get charged shipping?
In addition to a lower per-unit cost, there are no shipping charges for subscription carbon replacement filters.
What filter do I buy/use for my Lifestraw Home Dispenser?
The Home products use a two-stage filtration system consisting of a microfilter membrane and an ion exchange activated carbon filter. You can find the filters you need here: lifestraw.com/products/lifestraw-home-replacement-filters The activated carbon filter helps improve taste and removes some chemicals and heavy metals from your drinking water. It has a 60-day lifespan and should be replaced on a regular schedule for maximum efficacy. The membrane microfilter blocks bacteria, parasites, microplastics, and reduces turbidity. It lasts for up to 1,000 liters of regular use depending on the quality of your water.
Can I recycle the old filter or return it to you for recycling?
Hello Katie! We do not have a current recycling program but you can stay in touch with us in case this changes in the future. In the meantime, all components, except the carbon filters, would be recyclable.
