NO MORE PLASTIC AND OTHER TOXIC JUNK

"Very good design and size. It took quite awhile to run the water through the system during the first 5 attempts, and it is a bit difficult to disburse the water once cleaned if the first jug is still inside the larger jug. But, the joy of not having plastic and other crap in the water is worth it. Thanks so much!!!!"

— Susan L. (4/5)

Unrealized potential but great customer service

"This was going to replace my glass pitcher (part of the lid broke and there isn't a replacement part for it). Really liked the size, the bottom is very stable, and overall aesthetic didn't stand out ugly on my counter. Unfortunately, the pour spout leaked, there isn't a way to fix it, and it's out of stock. Customer service was great and I'm getting an alternative dispenser, but it's bigger than I planned and am not sure where I'll put it."

— Jessica F. (3/5)

Simply Amazing!

"From the thoughtfulness and attention of the customer service staff to help me change the color of the filter last minute (it was a gift) to all of the thorough follow up, this was an A++ experience. As one of the only filters I am aware of that filters out microplastics (among other things) I knew I had to get my newest friend on the Life Straw train! Mission accomplished!"

— Allison S. (5/5)

Great water, but a little bit drippy

"We love the taste of our water, definitely an improvement from some other water filters we've used. The only little problem we have is that every time we get some water there's some drips left behind which leaves my fridge a little bit wet."

— Debra M. (4/5)

Great Little Dispenser

"This is my third dispenser from LifeStraw. I needed a small one to make my life easier, and it’s perfect. Great for a personal office or she-shed/man cave. Same quality filtering as their other dispensers."

— Ellen F. (5/5)

Perfect Size

"This is a perfect size for the two of us and filtration time is quicker than out Home 7 quart pitcher. We love this one1"

— Gary L. (5/5)

Our third one

"We trust that this dispenser and our other two remove parasites and plastics from our water. It tastes great and looks great in the refrigerator or on the counter."

— Julie G. (5/5)

Great For Filtering

"My water has recently gotten very cloudy and nasty. I am so happy to have this to be able to filter the water. I keep it on my kitchen counter. Love it!"

— Kim O. (5/5)

Great dispenser!

"I was worried about how much space this may require, but it has been easy to work with and can easily be moved around when needed. Very nice product!"

— Judy M. (5/5)

Spout doesn’t have a focused stream

"I bought the home studio dispenser. It is the perfect size for a small space. I drink a lot of water and it definitely keeps up. Water tastes great. Super easy to fill. The only flaw I see is the pouring spout allows the much water out at once and not a focused stream. I you are filling a glass it would work fine but I fill bottles and it doesn’t work at all for that. So I use a funnel and that is a reasonable solution for me. As I found a remedy it doesn’t bother me too much. Hopefully in future design changes they could look to improve that."

Q&A

Do you HAVE to use bleach for the deep cleaning process?
No, you do not have to use bleach for deep cleaning a dispenser, but it is the most effective way to sanitize and remove bacteria, mold, or biofilm buildup. If you prefer an alternative, you can use white vinegar or a mixture of baking soda and water (do not use baking soda on the filters), though these may not be as strong as bleach in killing bacteria. If using vinegar, let it sit for at least 30 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
What is the base diameter of this water dispenser? I want to buy a 3rd party stand for it.
The diameter for the Studio 10 cup is 6.9 inches.
What is the base diameter of the 10 cu studio? I want to buy a short bamboo stand for it from Amazon, as I can’t find one for it from your site. Thanks!
The diameter is 6.9 inches
Hi! Is the lid on the dispenser fully closed? I need a water filter solution that isn’t vulnerable to stray ants or ladybugs or something finding a way in 😬 Thanks!
Hi, The Studio is fully caped. There are two pinholes however on the side of the unit to allow airflow.
Doesn't the filtered water sitting in a plastic container have microplastics from the container? OR, does the water get filtered as it comes out? Would prefer a glass container in the new designs.
Thank you for your question. I understand your concerns about microplastics in the water and their contribution to the problem. Microplastics are particles of plastic between 5 mm - 1 micron in size. They can be either intentionally manufactured for certain purposes (like microbeads in cosmetics) or result from the breakdown of larger plastic items due to weathering, material breakage, and mechanical forces. Microplastics can also come from synthetic fibers shedding off from textiles during washing and use. The LifeStraw membrane microfilter is designed to remove microplastic particles from drinking water. Testing has shown that our filters will block 99.999% of microplastic particulate in water. The product itself does not add microplastics to your water through regular use. The plastics used in our pitcher and dispenser are BPA-free and safe for food and water contact. We extensively test our products to ensure they are safe and meet USEPA, EU, and California Prop 65 standards.
How long do the filters last?
The Home Studio, Pitchers and Dispensers have a two-stage filtration system: a membrane microfilter that removes pathogens and blocks microplastics and debris in the water and an activated carbon + ion exchange filter that removes and reduces 30+ chemical and heavy metal contaminants. The membrane microfilter is good until water no longer passes through (a sign it may be time to change). Still, testing has shown that for best use and experience, it should be replaced after around 260 gallons of water is filtered—or about a year of use for most households. The carbon filters should be replaced every 60 days for maximum efficacy. Their lifespan is more related to exposure time than the volume of water filtered. Hope that answers your question!
Is this new smaller dispenser made of glass or plastic? Does it use the same filters as the hope glass pitcher? Is it dishwasher safe?
Hi, Yes, the new Studio 10 cup does use the same filters as the rest of our home products. We recommend avoiding the use of a dishwasher for your LifeStraw products, as exposure to alternating heat and cold can cause thermal stress, which may negatively affect the product over time.  This repeated expansion (when heated) and contraction (when cooled) can cause cracking, warping, or other forms of degradation. If you need more specific cleaning instructions for any product, you may check our product guides online or feel free to let us know—we're happy to assist.
