How long is one filter good for? How do I know when to change it?

Asked by: Honey
Hello! Excellent question! Our 2-stage filters are broken into 2 parts: 1 the activated carbon +ion exchange capsule, which is good for up to 26 gallons of water (or 2-3 months once it has been used). 2 our membrane microfilter which is good for up to 1,000 gallons of water filtered (it has no time-specific shelf-life). You will know it is time to change the carbon filter once you start to notice a different taste to your water. For the membrane microfilter, once it has reached its lifespan, it will become clogged and no longer allow water to pass through it.

Would this be interchangeable with the LifeStraw Go's filter? Assuming i wanted it to be able to filter heavy metals.

Asked by: Menglee91
Unfortunately, our LifeStraw Play filters are not compatible with the LifeStraw Go. At this time, the LifeStraw Go is not designed to filter heavy metals.
