The Brazil Project

It’s hard to dream of becoming a competitive athlete when you’re worried about the safety of the water you drink.

THE STORY

In August 2016, as the world turns its attention to Brazil,
LifeStraw is inviting individuals around the world to get involved,
not merely as spectators, but as active agents of change.LifeStraw has launched a LifeStraw safe water fund for Brazil
to bring high-volume LifeStraw Community water purifiers
and safe water education to schools in villages in the northeast
region of Brazil, more specifically to the State of Piaui- Caridade
do Piaui and Curral Novo do Piaui.

Over the next month, we will be raising awareness and raising
funds from individuals and teams to make this happen.

WHEN WILL THIS HAPPEN?

In September the safe water program will be implemented and we will be posting our progress online. Each purifier serves 75-100 school children. Each lasts 3-5 years and is capable of filtering approximately 100,000 liters of water.

A SERIOUS NEED

* Globally, 2.5 million kids miss school each day because of illnesses from unsafe water.
* More than 34 million Brazilians and 75% of rural schools across the country don’t have consistent access to safe water.
